Hey! Yesterday night I watched UP in 3D with my old friends and I liked it very much. Personally I think it's a nice story powered by amazingly crazy ideas in a positive way; those character designers did a wonderful job, personally I'd have never imagined such a spectacular result. I really loved all those graphic details here and there, and I particularly liked the main character (Carl Fredricksen) because he looks like my grandfather! XD

Well, talking more seriously, I also liked the figure of Charles F. Muntz; it's a pity he gets so insane, lunatic and paranoid for that stupid bird. However he confirms my theory: often the antagonist could be a lot more fascinating and knotty than the main character. Personally I don't think he should die like that ... ok, he tried to kill Russel and burn Mr. Fredricksen's house, but that's not a good reason to let him die; he's an old grumpy bastard, but personally I think that a good dose of humiliation (mixed with some adverse conditions) would have been enough for him. In other words, he should suffer and slowly pay for what he did.

Anyway I confess that I love Muntz's airship; a character of mine (invented 8 years ago) also uses a big airship prototype to reach South America ... how IRONIC!!! BTW, when I saw that "fossil chamber" I was litterally drooling, I thought "somebody has stolen my ideas!" ;) :P

Well, now I want to show you how it sounds in Italian: I hope you'll like it!

I think I'll love this series, I checked a couple of things and it's just perfect; They respected the Italian history adding some 'pepper' in all the right places. I just hope they'll show something more about Milan, but Florence is just perfect! =D

I suggest you to take a look here ... ;)

Nothing new really! Recently I decided to 'discover' how the Metal Gear Solid saga was, so I bought the first two episodes of the serie:
Metal Gear Solid 1: The Twin Snakes
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

I've to say that I liked them so far, it's a nice game (even though it could result a bit complicated). =)
I loved the soundtrack; I particularly like the main theme in Sons of Liberty and the end credits in The Twin Snakes.
Here's the first one ...

BTW, I discovered that Revolver Ocelot is my favourite character!!! Probably because he looks vaguely like Van Pelt from Jumanji. ;D :P
I love this drawing ... It's a reminder: I should start drawing again for myself! (PS: I hope you enjoyed the music)

Hi everybody! Finally I can take a couple of minutes to tell you how my short vacation was ... =D ;)
I really enjoyed it, and I have to say that I'm really happy to see how Italy is working; Mr Berlusconi is working in a pretty good way, his allied parties are fixing a lot of "historical" defects and our economy is in good health after all. Yes!!! Italy is not suffering this global crisis (at least not that much); the basic difference between Italy and other countries is the non-existent lack of money, problems are 'simply' caused by a bad administration of capitals on the highest spheres. Here in Spain there're a lot of problems for example: People and banks are running out of money ... factories, big companies, construction sites, shops and restaurants are closing; in Italy only few companies are suffering these problems, it's a pretty restrained crisis for now. :P ;D

Anyway, let's talk about about other things:
I spent a lot of time with my friends and I finally had the occasion to watch The Dark Knight, Madagascar 2 and Il Cosmo sul Comò (The Universe on the Dresser); The Dark Knight is a spectacular movie, I'd give it 10 points over 10, but I didn't like it that much ... it's a wonderful movie, but it's not a comic anymore; personally I was expecting something different, I'd have appreciated it in the right way without Batman Begins. BTW, Madagascar 2 was absolutely hilarious ... those penguins are the best!!! XD

Part n.1 )

Part n.2 )
(Sorry for the lack of translation, but I'm a bit lazy at the moment; if you want
to know what we're saying, just tell me what part you want ;)

I've just watched "1408" on TV ... Wow!!!

What a movie! I think it's one of the best movies I've ever seen so far; I love how the story is set, it's alienating.   I liked it because this story and "Rose Red" (written by Stephen King too) have a similar structures. =)
There's still something I don't understand, but it's almost unimportant.

I red some notes about the movie and I liked it even more; I red that there're two different endings and I do agree that the original ending was too much downer and depressing, even if it'd have been more coherent with the rest of the story. :P

When it finished I had the strange sensation of being inside an illusion, an illusion caused by the room 1408! XD
But I let you judge it! ;D Enjoy

Just a quick question: I red the newspaper and even the BBC underlined what happened between our Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi and the left wing parties, those parties heavily criticized what Berlusconi said about Obama ... accusing him of racism; He (ironically) described Obama as "Young, handsome and tanned".
Berlusconi said that they're humorless imbeciles (and personally I agree).

What do you think about what happened? I don't want to start a political discussion, I'm just curious to know what you think since US are directly involved.

Anyway I hope that all my dear American readers will forgive what other Italian politicians said (ex: Gasparri); That's the biggest defect of our right wing, they often act impulsively and they don't think about what they're saying. They're not good diplomats, but at least they're good businessmen and they know pretty well how to improve and fix many things in our Econimic-Social-Political organization. :P

Well, I've just finished to watch a Russian movie! Not bad, not bad ... I liked it very much. =)
It's story about a great warrior called Wolfhound; it's the typical ancient medieval-barbaric saga you can find in Central-Eastern Europe. ;D

Nice special effects
Nice story
Nice scenography
Nice costumes
Nice characters

(Sorry, but now I don't have much time to tell you all the various details)
Probably it'd look similar to Beowulf, but I've not watched it yet; :P Anyway I suggest you to take a look on this one if you have the occasion to do it. ;)

I've just red a page on our Italian newspaper "Il Corriere della Sera":

Found two corpses of Rom girls on a beach in Torregaveta ... Italians were emotionless in front of those two corpses, the "Observer" says; "They treated my daughters' bodies like dogs" the mothers says (they just put a couple of towels to cover the bodies without doing anything else).
I say, what do you expect to do with two corpses? People can't do anything until a police unit arrives!

"Italy is being Fascist and discriminating" (because in Italy we ask fingerprints when clandestine immigrants arrive on our coasts, and our government is trying to fight urban decay sending all the clandestine immigrants back, outside of Italy) , the "Observer" says. Probably that journalist didn't consider what happens in other countries; in England they're not so innocent ... and it's the same for other European countries like France, or United States too (I suppose).

"Why Italians hate us so much?" the mother says, ... I understand the loss of your daughters, but you have to understand that we're not discriminating only Rom people just because they're Rom; after all the mayority of our immigrants become criminals because they know that they can do whatever they want in Italy, even kill somebody without judicial consecuences. This happen with everybody ... the may be gypsies, rom, rumanians, moroccoans, albaneses, etc.
Often the authors of robberies, murders, rapes are immigrants (only if we consider Southern Italy, the authors may be Italians just for the reason that in Southern Italy there's an incredible hight level of criminality).

"You're the European dump because you're too kind with immgrants! You should stop give them whatever they want unconditionally!" (this was said by a dear Rumanian friend of mine, who has a honest work in a bank). Actually here in Spain the mayority of Rumanians get a honest job and immigrants must find a job and being registered at the statal fingerprints archive; That's because here they've a serious government that fights criminality.

However I think that that women is playing the role of the "victim" ... and that British newspaper is just using her story to make global sensationalism; We're just acting like any other (reasonably intransigent) country.
BTW, nobody is innocent out there!!! (... and Italy is full of idiots, I can't hide it, but I love my country and I don't care about idiots! That's my opinion)

Well, well, well ... yesterday night I saw 'The Golden Compass' and, after more than 7 months waiting for it, I have to say that it was an enormous delusion!!! =(

Honestly I don't think that there're many anti-religious references, I think that this movie is more anti-dictatorial (like 'V for Vendetta' with the 'Mask of the Church' ... more or less);   It's like the complete control that there was in the old USSR.   More than heretical ... it's an anarchical movie!   :P XD There're a lot of political matters and aspects!

Talking about the look, I think that it's pretty well constructed: buildings, objects, animals, atmosphere ... everything represent pretty well this parallel universe, but there's not a single good explanation!
Everything, during the story progress, appears "automatically" ... there's not suspense, there're not misterious aspects; everybody can easily imagine what is going to happen in the following scene, nobody explains WHY things happen.   That complex, illegible (except for the young Lyra), enigmatic tool - the Alethiometer - ... is not so "enigmatic";   maybe the Golden Compass tells you the truth, but anybody can easily guess it without that device.

I was imagining something "poetical" or "philosophical" about the authentic meaning of that thing;   there would be many interesting aspects ... but nobody talks about them! :S

There's not an action with serious or important consequences or results in the whole story; every part is indipendent and they're not important (the various parts are just little short stories inserted in a bigger one);   Every character plays his/her role and then they "disappear", they don't explain anything.
But worst part was the ending: "we're going to solve everything!" more or less; I said "ok, ... and now what?", they didn't tell anything in 2 hours ... maybe it could be better if they explain HOW they're going to solve the problem!!!
I hope that they're going to continue in a next episode, but ... I didn't find anything about it.

I think it's like a frame without the picture; interesting context, horrible arrangement.

During these days I watched "Perfume: The story of a Murderer"
It's a very very very good movie: Nice story, nice photography, nice soundtrack ... good actors - Etc.

But a thing captured my attention: the Town Hall of La Grasse ... in the last scenes.

... It's very similar to the Town Hall of Montbriò del Camp!
Here! ... in my small town in Spain! ;D XD =D

Hi everybody ... I'm back! :P

I'm sorry if I disappeared again: I spent these days with some friends ... but thing didn't go how I hoped (my friend is in love and I have to say that he had some mood swings not easy to tolerate);
Anyway ... it was nice to have him and his girlfriend here.

I promise to post some photos tomorrow! =)

I have to confess that now I feel a bit alone, but I hope to distract a bit visiting some ancient building or relaxing place around here ... or drawing: I need to draw something, ... I waited too much! ;D

(... and I hope to chat a bit too!)

-----------------------------------------
Other news:
I watched a very nice movie in these days!
It's Nanny McPhee

A good story ... after a lot of movies without anything decent (except those damned special effects) ;)
Colours are the best thing!!! =D

P.S.: I'll try to read the posts that I missed ...
See you soon!!! =D

Probably this is one of the best movies I've ever seen!

Ok ... just a quick post to say again "I'm still alive" ... XD
Anyway I'm going to say my renovated opinion about "300" and ... "King Arthur" ;)

... of course these two movies need a long post and a lot of words, but now it's late for me (23:44) so ... this is just a "preview" :P ;D
Summarizing the whole opinion that I've in my mind, I can say that my renovated opinion includes many positive aspects ... without forgetting negative ones!

I would like to say few words before concluding this post: "Americans ... where's the verisimilitude?" ;P ;D XD
(with this phrase I don't want misunderstandings: it's just my opinion ... and everyone has his/her opinion, right?) ;) =)

Okay ... calm down (sorry, but I lose a bit too much my self-control when I start talking about this movie) *very evil grin*
Well, ... I started watching only few pictures when I had my first (not so good) opinion; I remembered a bit the story of Thermopylae, but I was unsure, so I simply went on Wikipedia to refresh my mind;

There was a discussion today at school with a friend of mine and ... I started talking about persian soldiers: they have a mask ... A MASK? why a mask ...? during a battle? --- but this is a detail, I ask WHY ... have they got a JAPANESE mask???? (very similar to Samurai's masks)
This friend told me ... "But persians had a huge empire and they arrived in Asia" - I said "Ok"; BUT they didn't arrive in China or Japan, they didn't arrive in India too!

Second point: I saw all those "chains" that Xerxes have and his throne ... I've not words to describe what I think, I see those things only in american comics. (I think that american comics are exaggerated)

Then I watched the trailer ... and at that point my opinion was the worst I've ever had about a movie;

I saw monsters (I presume they were persians), an horrible wolf (?), fireworks (?), a guy who jumps 15 meters (?) --- what the hell ... does it mean?
There was a tsunami of special effects ... (unfortunately special effects are everywhere)

IT HAS NONSENSE ...!!!!

I've a lot of things more to say that now I can't remember, ... or because it's too complicated translating all;
Anyway ... I'll wait to say my last word about that film because I need to go to the cinema and watch it entirely yet.
For now I think that it's the worst movie ever made in the whole history! (and at this point I prefer that horrible thing called "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen")

PS: However, in everything ... there's something good, and I have to say that "300" have a pretty good photography; that's interesting after all.

This is my point of view.
